*****

I’m fascinated by the unexpected.

By the little scenes life creates without even trying.

A tipped over ice cream cup. Bright red melting ice cream. Tiny ants running around. A colourful electrical box.

And suddenly, there it is. A little theatre piece. Absurd, beautiful, funny. A constellation of things that have somehow found each other.

I love these moments because they surprise me. They remind me that the world is constantly creating, connecting things in ways I could never have planned myself.

I think this is also at the heart of my art.

In my collages, I bring fragments together and discover what happens between them. In life, I find these connections already waiting to be noticed.

Sometimes I create something unexpected. Sometimes I simply come across it.

And sometimes, by sharing it, I invite someone else to see the world a little differently.

Perhaps creativity is not only about making things.

Perhaps it is also about noticing what is already there, allowing yourself to be surprised, and staying open to what emerges.

Mixed Media

Copper, black, white. Textures, traces and fragments of everyday life. My pieces begin long before I touch the canvas.

I’m fascinated by the complexity and multilayered nature of life. I work in layers, letting different textures, materials and impressions come together, overlap and create new meanings. For me, that’s where the magic happens.

***** What is it that we are afraid of?
Dying?
Of

*****
What is it that we are afraid of?
Dying?
Of changes?
Of goodbyes?

Pretending that this life will continue forever.

Even though I don’t feel afraid of death, I simply can’t imagine not being here anymore one day.
My brain is not able to grasp this idea.

I grew up in an orthodox religious community where I was taken to funerals from an early age. Death was a recurring topic in the preaching throughout my childhood.

And still, I can’t imagine myself not being here anymore one day.
For many years, I’ve said that the only way I could imagine myself being after death was in a mausoleum.
The idea of being cremated or buried makes me very uncomfortable.
Simply because I can’t imagine not feeling anything anymore.
It means I can’t imagine being dead.

I wonder if this is strange.
I’ve never heard anybody say that.

Either people don’t talk about death at all, as if it doesn’t exist, or they say, “I want to be buried,” “I want to be cremated,” or “I’ll be dead, I won’t care.”

I’ve also always liked skulls and skeletons very much.
I’ve never associated a skeleton or a skull with death. To me, it’s the framework of my body.

In @karinkuschik ’s book 50 Questions That Make Life Easier, one question is: “Would today be a good day for dying?”

Of course it would.

I love my life, and I love creating and experiencing so much more. And at the same time, it would be okay to die today.

The title of this artwork is:

Would Today Be a Good Day to Die?
LOVE#10.1.1/1.10.26

Let me know your answer.
I’m curious.

🪽Rinetta

***** ART AS AN EXPRESSION OF FREEDOM. I believe

*****
ART AS AN EXPRESSION OF FREEDOM.

I believe we are freer than we think.

We grow up learning what is possible, what is realistic, what we should want and who we should be.

And somewhere along the way, we begin to mistake these limitations for reality.

My art comes from a different place.

A place of intuition, play, curiosity and the freedom to follow what feels alive.

Through my work, I want to remind you of something I believe deeply:

You are free to live life on your own terms.

Every piece I create is an invitation to follow your own joy and live life on your own terms.

What would you do if you stopped asking for permission to follow your own joy?

On my way back from my afternoon swim in the sea,

On my way back from my afternoon swim in the sea, I passed these giant cable reels and immediately stopped.

Two young construction workers were struggling with something incredibly heavy. One of them looked at me and smiled.

“I’m an artist,” I told him. “I see things differently. These are so fascinating to me. I’d love to photograph them.”

He smiled.

When I left, I thanked them for the work they were doing and told them how much I appreciated seeing them doing such hard work, even with a smile.

His answer was something like:
“Without a smile, there’s no way.”

And somehow, that was the perfect ending to the encounter.

Materials. Shapes. Colors. Light.
A little visual fascination from today.

*****

For me, art begins long before a finished artwork exists.

It begins in the way I see, collect, arrange, notice, and respond to the world around me.

Whether through textiles, photography, objects, words, or even a plate of food, I am always drawn to color, texture, rhythm, contrast, and emotional resonance.

The artwork is often only the visible trace of a much larger conversation between perception, intuition, and life itself.

Mas Amor.
More love.

An old human theme, yet more urgent than ever.
For ourselves, for each other, for a world shaped by conflict and division.

These textile works hold light, softness, and the vibrant energy of the island—layers of pink, warmth, joy, and tenderness.

A quiet reminder that love is never outdated. It is necessary.

*****
This series emerges from a state of movement rather than control. Layered lines and shifting faces overlap, appear, and dissolve—capturing moments of connection that never fully settle. It may look chaotic, but beneath it lies a living structure, processing emotion, perception, and relationship in real time. This work is not about clarity or perfection; it is about allowing everything to exist at once, until something true begins to reveal itself.

Sunday morning.
I woke up and went straight to the table to continue this series. I couldn’t not do it. Sometimes the work is simply there, waiting, and everything else becomes secondary - even sitting here in my robe, half awake, completely fine with it.

A small glimpse into the process.

I begin many of my works with words.

Most times I choose to write “love” again and again across the paper.
It creates the first layer — a quiet foundation the rest of the collage can grow from.

Simple positive words can influence how we feel, even when we only notice them for a moment.
That is why they appear so often in my work.

*****
-
-

NO – a No that grows out of Love
No Ser $*****
-
-

NO – a No that grows out of Love
No Series
LOVE.No.8.1.1/1.12.25 This piece begins with a word you don’t immediately see: LOVE written in rows across the entire paper. Like quiet waves in the background, almost invisible, yet always present. A subtle hum of affection, self-protection, longing. A foundation you only notice once you know it’s there, much like self-love that whispers long before it speaks. On top of it lies the NO, cut from a black-and-white print — a solid N, and an O that’s been broken into three parts. A No that isn’t fully round. A No that struggles. A No made of many smaller No’s: No to overwhelm. No to heaviness. No to numbing. No to stuffing down feelings. No to the sense of losing yourself. As long as it’s not a Yes, it remains a No. And this fractured O is exactly that, a sign that boundaries often begin in pieces before they become whole again. Around this No are little horses, creatures you can’t lie to. Horses respond to honesty. To inner truth. To what you feel beneath the surface, even if you don’t say it out loud. They run, stand, or rest on the letters as if they’re protecting this No. As if they know it isn’t directed against the world, but for something: for clarity, for feeling again, for a moment of real authenticity. This artwork is a snapshot between resistance and rediscovery. A No standing on a hidden bed of Love. A No that is the beginning of a new Yes. - P - L - A - Y - M - O - R - E - A - X - S - E - E - K - J - O - Y - #art #collageart #MixedMediaArt #emotionalart #contemporaryart$
